Yesterday I was watching a documentary about how the Neoliberals first formed and it told the story of economist Friedrich Hayek, who wrote a book named "The Road to Serfdom" , and with the help of some other groups of economists formed the Mont Pelerin Society in 1947.

The book "The Road to Serfdom" was a big hit in the UK and Europe and was basically a warning that the post war consensus of government interventions ( like building a National Health System or National railways, or the welfare state ) was always a slippery slope towards totalitarianism.

Only a free market would work.

Long story short, Harold Luhnow (September 25, 1895 – August 1978) an American businessman, fake philanthropist, and radical right political activist who had inherited mega bucks from his kindly grandfather ( a true philanthropist ) - wanted to make "The Road to Serfdom" a big hit in the USA.

This was the start of a long association between a very wealthy ideological individual and a radical economist - and soon Hayek was over at Chicago University and with the right money behind the cause -various appointments were made - and this effectively planted economists with similar views in the economics department - until the "free market" professors ended up taking over the economics department - an infiltration of academia by those intent on creating an embedded paradigm.

Incidentally Readers Digest published a condensed version of "The Road to Serfdom" and it was read like wild fire by those who swallowed the BS about freedom, free markets and all that jazz.

Anyway long story short - The top dog at Chicago University had a sister who married Milton Friedman and the rest is history.

Friedman was present along with some of the Chicago academics at the first Mont Pelerin meeting.

Anyway as you know the formation of think tanks as a strategy to educate and infiltrate Universities, Government Departments, and even Cabinet Rooms and Newspapers - and create the new "neoliberal paradigm" by shaping minds - carried on for decades ...after 1981 when finally there was a kind of Neoliberal Revolution - which turfed out social democracy and replaced it with this garbage.

They call this the Turning Point - 1981. That's when Anthony Fischer got involved with Hayek cos Fisher sought out Hayek.

Long story short Fischer founded the Atlas Network.

In NZ the Turning Point revolution was articulated by Roger Douglas - and his cronies - and soon the asset strippers were making a fortune - like you know Mr Richwhite and Mr Gibbs etc.

Wonderfully this would create more wealthy individuals who could back the Atlas Network and even donate to their institutions, plants inside Universities and other Atlas Organisations like say the TPU or the NZ initiative.

So then - all the Atlas Network organisations had to do was say - they don't get funding from the Atlas Network - because it's the wealthy donors ( often made opaque ) who supply that money.

Anyway eventually the tentacles of this Atlas Network reached us and was properly formed in 2012 when the NZ Initiative formed and then the Taxpayers Union in 2013.

Okay so last night I was browsing the NZ Initiative website as you do - and I found a paper titled "Prescription for Prosperity" which I posted on G News this morning knowing most wont be bothered to read this - but some will.

The paper details recommendations to Luxon, Willis and Seymour etc ...about what they should do to make NZ more prosperous as far as the Atlas Network is concerned in this term of Government.

Things like abolishing the Overseas Investment Act and making the rules the same for domestic and foreign investors ( Big Property selling out NZ ) and ensuring kiwi sellers can sell to the highest bidders overseas.

Then there was reforming the Commerce Commission and creating an Atlas Network Regulatory Assessment Authority which reviewed the Commerce Commission, Financial Markets Authority and RBNZ every three years. Yes - the grip on us is real.

Adopting that social investment approach to improve the opportunities for kiwis to live fulfilling lives and reduce costs. Something we all Know Willis is doing as soon as the IT systems interoperate and we all saw those sanctions and "checkins" to save costs yesterday.

Exploring bilateral agreements with other countries so migrants can freely come and go here...and easing settings to Pre-Pandemic levels.

Assessing the goals of Pharmac - and its subsidy budget and require Medsafe to just accept American or foreign regulators approvals for vaccines and medicines. No matter how unsafe.

Make property rights dominant in the RMA and repeal the National and Built Environment and Spacial Planning Acts. ( First 100 days ).

Abolish Fair Pay Agreements, bring back 90 day trials and make sure that unjustified dismissal processes do not apply to highly paid employees.

Use only the ETS to fight Climate Change, drop the goal of 100% renewable energy, bring in congestion charging, partner with private sector for infrastructure, cut red tape.

Replace the NZC curriculum with Atlas ( knowledge rich, structured literacy and numeracy ) and bring back National assessments.

Incentivise local government to share in the benefits from extractive industries ( coal mining, oil drilling ), allow councils to initiate policy trials in special economic zones.

Permit an incoming Government to directly appoint ( there it is ) senior hand picked civil servants ( Atlas ) in key departments.

Remove the intermediation of the Public Service Commissioner.

Expand the role of advisors ( Atlas ) independent of the Government.

Devolve decisions made in Central Government to local bodies ( step one of privatising )

That's probably enough to make the point that - what we are seeing is Luxon and Willis - bad actors on the public stage - selling us this prescription for prosperity - which is really an infiltration and indoctrination strategy with a few reforms build in - that free up the big corporations, shift the balance, embed Atlas on the inside - and limit government protections, using - back on track and get things done - as opaque slogans for that purpose.

This is not a conspiracy theory it's a conspiracy fact happening right before your eyes - while TVNZ tries to promote its poll product to get attention and eyes on its content.

Think it's time for a coffee.
