A brawl broke out in lower Hobson Street last night after 7.30PM with people throwing bottles off a balcony and Police surrounded the place as they arrested four people using a bit of pepper spray and they tasered one.
Anyway sounds like everyone involved was bailed overnight.
Associate Health Minister Casey Costello denies the tobacco industry influenced her decision to defer a ban on vapes without removable batteries and child proofing mechanisms, which was originally to come into effect on 21 March.
Big Tobacco was slapping it's knees over that one.
Industrial action taken by some TVNZ staff over the looming cuts is underway and this has exposed the way Winston stamped his foot at Melissa Lee who did not follow proper process when she put forward a paper to Cabinet and now - that paper concerning measures to help local media has been sent back to the drawing board while Lee makes excuses for dodging the media.
Hannah Tamaki told Squidface Oliver Sean Plunket that men in dresses should not be reading to children in libraries on Friday afternoon.
What was more amusing was the way Hannah Tamaki was more upset about copy cat hate crimes being thought to be Destiny Church hate crimes. It sounded like she thought only original hate crimes should happen - and she did not like thinking of her hate crimes as hate crimes - despite them officially being classified as hate crimes by Police.
There was no hate involved said Hannah - but there kind of was judging by the need to deface public property.
Christopher Luxon is involving his children in PR photos on his social media again as he stands beside his young Carrot-Top son William who was at the wheel of the family $250,000 speed boat as they both zoomed around offshore on the northern coast of Waiheke Island.
The father son duo wore matching Sealegs uniforms and wished us all a happy Easter in some far away world of endless cash.
The adult minimum wage is increasing by 2% on Monday ( start of a new financial year ) – from $22.70 per hour to $23.15.
Act's Brook Van Robot had initially proposed a 1.3% minimum wage increase, according to a Cabinet paper. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment had recommended a 4% increase but the black hearts of the Neoliberals were not having that - as they craved misery and suffering at the bottom - while Willis said "Help is on the way in tax relief"...three chupa chups a week for some.
"$4,000 per day", said an Organic Punga, "How much is that in Chupa Chups per week?"
"At Countdown prices that's 6,154 Chupa Chups per day or 30,770 Chupa Chups per five day week", said a flax bush.
"It's not GREEDY", warbled a majestical Tui before yelling "YEAH RIGHT" and flying off to peck at Brook Van Robot.
"30,774 Chupa Chups per week for Steven Joyce but only three a week for those on the minium wage, clearly something is horribly wrong here", said G from G News, putting down his red pen.
"A man does what he must", said Monty teasing something out of the immorality that could be further explored here but not right now.
Also from Monday onwards EV owners will pay $76 per 1000km driven - the same as diesel vehicles - and plug-in hybrid owners $38 - down from the $42 that had been proposed - on a pre-pay basis.
RID ( Racists in Denial )are still clutching their pearls over the University designated spaces thing - and you'd think someone had really invaded their safety the way they carried on as if they were bloody children all week.
OMG somebody stick a pacifier in their gobs.
"Rid me of these damned racists", said the harmony swaying in the trees.
Maybe they did not see Simon Mercep ( spelt it properly this time ) interview the people who run these University spaces - and they said to Simon Mercep - it does not mean you are excluded...not at all? There you go...
In any case I tried to listen to Michael Laws grizzling over this like someone had seriously moved his cheese and he did not appreciate the reasons for it - I mean just cos his surname is Laws does not mean he's a lawyer - or he'd understand the Bill of Rights Act - section 19(2).
Nobody Reading this is Gerry Brownlee !!!
Hooray !!!
Bruce Cotterill thinks Sir Russell Coutts is right - dolphin drama shows we’re drowning in red tape. Notably Cotterill's opinion ( published in the NZ herald ) is pretty light and really just says Melbourne had Formula One but look at us?
The obstruction economy line from those who do not give a fark about the environment.
Who is this guy? Well as a CEO, Bruce Cotterill led real estate group Colliers in both New Zealand and Australia, Kerry Packer’s ACP Magazines, and iconic New Zealand sportswear company Canterbury International.
So he's got his mind on the money and his money on his mind, and Colliers ( Real Estate research ) is a member of the Atlas Network think tank NZ Initiative. Yes so there you go...conclude what you may ...but our dolphin mates and furry friends and foliage are standing in the way of the neoliberals again.
What about that homeless guy selling $1.50 instant coffees on the street - being told he needed a licence by Auckland Council?
Well thanks to Give-a-little $5,000 got raised to help him - cos at least he was doing a service and working hard ...and his idea may catch on ...like why is coffee so expensive anyway?
I hope you are having a relaxing Easter Saturday.
Not all that much is happening as people try to enjoy a break.
Gotta go pick up Vicki from work now.
Catch you later.
