Shane Jones has done all the work on scrapping work on legislation to put a vast ocean sanctury around the Kermadec Islands. It became clear Jones did not consult impacted iwi as he thought this was a Cabinet decision and he Jones was the iwi himself - plus he dodged questions about objections from fisheries to his plans to drill the heck out of the seabed around there.
Winston and Seymour are coming under fire and being called idiots for their stance on the designated area for students at Auckland University - while I read earlier Luxon told the media he was very disappointed in the affirmative action. This seemed at odds with Erica who disagreed with Winston over it.
The good news is The University has come out swinging saying its proud of the spaces - Hooray !!!! I knew they would have more than enough brains to see the facts.
There's been strong push back on the false equivalence known as the "Thug's veto" where haters organise hate events and compare themselves to inclusive peaceful events - saying their intolerance is equivalent to tolerance - and the Thug's Veto - like Brian Tamaki intimidating people in a Library is the same as standing up to haters in a small town hall.
People were appalled at Destiny Church painting over a crossing on K Road - and even Tamaki's own online poll showed most people disagree with his insanity.
Louis Upston is using the old trick of "speaking in fortnight's" not in weeks and referring to "couples not individuals" to try and make her piddling increases to help the poor from 1 April 2024. i.e. - The average "couple" get this much per "fortnight". The effect of this deceptive marketing is to make a very small number per week per person appear four times bigger.
Oliver Hartwich appeared on the Platform to moan about the Budget Policy Statement - which was a way of the Atlas Network saying there were no solid numbers in there and cuts did not go far enough to get Government spending back to 27% of GDP like in 2017 when shite ran down hospital walls.
The barking German economist was not the only one barking - Richard Prebble ( ex Act ) was woofing in the NZ Herald for delays, Shamubeel Eaqub said Willis had published a pamphlet and was making the recession worse and Bernard Hickey reckoned Westpac and others have said - Willis needs to borrow $15 Billion to include her tax cuts.
As you know Willis will deflect and say - that borrowing was for something other than Tax Cuts - but we all know the excuses and tricks she uses now - after she promised to resign on 15 September 2023 on TVNZ Breakfast if she does not deliver.
"She will likely delay some of the tax cuts and deliver some of them in July on time", said an organic punga who did not trust it when right wing voices from the Atlas Network and Act started to make nosies like this.
"She sounds like she is going to sell assets. She sure will not resign", said a Flax Bush, "That's not going to happen".
"Rock Solid" warbled a majestical Tui before yelling "YEAH RIGHT" and flying off to peck at Willis.
"There's no question people have lost faith in Willis and nobody can take her word seriously, her brand is in tatters", said G from G News.
"The foolish are repeatedly disgraced", said Monty chasing a toy rabbit across the carpet.
Gerry has been disrupting questioners in parliament - making them start again using the excuse that there's a small noise somewhere or they are going too fast...but in my opinion - Gerry is trying to knock people off balance in the opposition.
His rulings are about 98% in favour of National and quite mushy and inconsistent in the House and the feedback I am getting is people think he's a giant cheat - letting Winston get away with almost anything. The feedback is all bad - apart from Audrey Young - who thinks he is superb through her blue tinted glasses.
Nobody Reading this is Gerry Brownlee !!!
Hooray!!!
The Atlas Network flunkies have taken a big chopping axe to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples and chopped 63 jobs there. The impacts will be dire.
A meme is going around social media which details all the people convicted of messing with children over the past decades in New Zealand and there's a long list of men associated with religion but nobody who is Trans. There you go I suppose.
One of the men on the list was someone I knew when I was a teenage boy - so it did make me reflect upon the lollies in his car - he gave to boys - and how I travelled in that car on my way to Altar Boy practice cos I was raised in a Catholic family. He told me at that time - I was looking like the fittest young man in Pakuranga ...and how he later sent me letters from inside...eek. So yeah - it's close...anyway next topic.
There's too much misdirected hate - and it's time to stop Act and NZ First and the Platform from stirring all this up in NZ in my opinion. Just stop.
Luxon has been doing photo ops in Hamilton today - posing with babies etc...as a good amount of mutual back scratching happens and Luxon tries to get his popularity ratings back up...but fat chance.
That act is tired and over now. Kiwis see it a mile off.
Gotta go get the groceries now, and fill up the car ...you know how it is.
Catch you all later on.
