G News - the good news

Christopher Luxon had a shocking post cabinet press conference today where he used the phrase "I have not seen those comments" too many times in order to avoid answering questions.

NewsHub's Jenna Lynch eventually asked Luxon if he was well briefed enough after he had no clue how it was widely reported eight days ago that it was likely there would be Treaty settlement delays thanks to Govt’s public spending cuts, nor did Luxon have any idea about Seymour's widely reported comments concerning pseudoephedrine...and the TVNZ 1 News reporter BeenADick ...and how Seymour was expressly forbidden to make such comments.

Luxon was a vacant space missing in action and seemed in a hurry to get the hell out of there.

When asked about Seymour's comments about TVNZ Luxon said "What comments sorry?".

"Interviewing Luxon is about him avoiding the question", said an organic punga shaking his head.

"He's used that excuse about not having seen the comments before", said a flax bush.

Luxon suddenly seemed to know enough about the comments to say he supported Seymour's right to make the comments he did, "He's expressing his views, he's free to do so", which really fell short with media - and they reminded him John Key had cautioned his staff not to do this.

Luxon tried flattery "You are important" said Luxon - but no dice.

Luxon made out he had spoken to cabinet just like John Key - but when asked when he did that, he said three weeks ago - before Seymour made the comments - and then denied that Seymour had ignored him.

"HOLY SHIT BALLs", said G from G News, "What can you say?"

"He's the boss", warbled a majestical Tui before yelling "YEAH RIGHT" and flying off to peck at Luxon.

Luxon avoided answering if a carve out will be made ( by Act ) to bring back Semi Automatics for Sport ahead of his visit to the Muslim community in Christchurch for the anniversary of the Christchurch massacre.

On whether Luxon would support compensation for the Oil and Gas Industry should a future Government re-implement the ban - Luxon was like "I have not seen those comments".

While National and Act strongly oppose “corporate welfare”, they are open to putting taxpayer money on the line to give oil and gas companies surety they won’t have the rug pulled out from beneath them again.

Media could not believe how Luxon had not heard about Shane Jones' widely reported comments :

“I’ve asked officials to help overcome perceptions of sovereign risk,” Jones said, acknowledging he was only in the initial stages of investigating whether the Crown’s balance sheet could effectively be used to insure oil and gas companies against regulatory risk.

Luxon failed to "hear those comments" for about a week when Casey Costello first got in trouble over her comments, and pleading ignorance looks like a deliberate evasive tactic now.

When asked if rents would fall as a result of his changes to interest deductibility, Luxon made out what renters care about is downward pressure on rents and asked if he was going to lower his rents - Luxon hid behind how those were his private affairs.

In other words rents ain't going anywhere but up.

Nobody Reading this is Gerry Brownlee !!!

Hooray!!

Yesterday David Seymour fell off his bike, cos he did not see an oncoming car, hit the brakes a bit too hard, and cartwheeled over the handlebars. He was abused - like serves ya right as he sat on the ground. He was told 'look what you're doing to Māori, you're just a trust fund baby who's out of touch with reality'.

Today, the Government confirmed the appointment of former National leader Simon Bridges as the new chairman of the NZ Transport Agency - Waka Kotahi.

"Mock moy werds and roid moy lups", said Soyman, but yeah it's just another buddy gig.

The Three Headed Taniwha has decided to phase in interest deductibility for landlords more slowly than promised in the National–Act coalition agreement. No longer can landlords backdate their claims - and of course Luxon disagreed he'd broken any promises saying he was very grown up, incredible and "adjusting like a dynamic government"...something like that.

Luxon also claimed that simply changing the paper focus of the Reserve Bank to price stability only - has really helped put dollars in back pockets - when it's done no such thing.

Climate Advocates have attacked the removal of climate change from Government's draft transport policy - saying the 1960s want their transport plan back.

Australia won the cricket.

Vicki's Dad just left after visiting for a couple of days and yes I've been chilling a bit so there's been a wee bit less content on G News ...cos I was tired too.

Now I'm back and focused so do not worry, it's all about balance.

Hope you have a pleasant evening.
