G News - the good news

Luxon's big announcement today is he's repealing three waters legislation and will replace it with two bits of legislation.

The Three Headed Taniwha will repeal Three Waters by 23 February and pass a Bill in mid 2024 around council service regulations followed by another bill passed in 2025 which is about access to long term debt funding and ring fencing water money paid for by ratepayers.

It seems unclear if rating agencies will buy into that scheme and it would be on councils if they messed up and council controlled organisations screwed up.

Wellington Water is a council controlled organisation so there you go - but Luxon rested everything on access to long term debt finance based on balance sheet separation / ring fencing.

Luxon also boasted that he's not mandating anything - big councils can choose to ignore small ones and water quality regulators can squeal all they like - Luxon won't be taking the blame cos it's a kind of free market full of libertarian mayors.

Let the water standards fall where they may, although there is some spin designed to say that will not happen.

Local Government Minister Simeon Brown could not answer where the money was coming from for Councils to set up Council Controlled Organisations - other than to say some Councils are having conversations right now as he continued to put everything back onto Councils and announced he had set up a working group ( technical advisory group ), the third working group this Government has introduced so far.

"Not another working group", moaned an organic punga wearing a blue tee, "We hate working groups and moan about them for years".

"Working groups, working groups, and more working groups - the star dust will settle and they lack substance", muttered a flax bush pretending to be Fran O'Sullivan.

Luxon reckoned his pretty dumb cabinet need technical experts and financial experts to go through this - which media argued was the same "excuse they had heard from Labour about working groups".

"Luxon said Labour had 230 working groups, but that was after nine years of neglect and each Government have to have some working groups", explained G from G News.

"It's actually good to see National ask for expertise for once after their pretty shocking record of not knowing the costs nor the impacts of everything they tear down". - said G tickling Monty on the tummy.

Naturally Luxon pivoted to how Labour had no plan but yeah - all government's had a 100 day plan - but now - Luxon is thinking of having quarterly plans - like there's 12 quarters and we have had two already...so here comes the corporatisation thing to NZ inc.

"Quarterly plans read my licking lips", warbled a majestical Tui before yelling "YEAHG RIGHT" and flying off to peck at Simeon Brown.

Luxon said he does not believe in the polls and would not accept that Seymour gave him a spanking when Jenna Lynch asked if he had disciplined Seymour for undermining him in public.

Luxon responded with "We have lots of conversations".

Lynch persisted - you would discipline him wouldn't you?

In the interests of secrecy, non transparency and zero accountability Luxon refused to be frank and forthcoming by dodging the questions a second time saying, "We have lots of conversations and I don't want to get into those conversations".

Next he'll be telling us he has consistently been very clear and does not know how to be any clearer.

As you know Gerry has decided to keep Big Oil and Big Tobacco lobbyist identities secret and given them back swipe cards so they can do their dirty work without accountability.

Nicola Willis had said National would look into more transparency about this Lobbyist business and Luxon said Paul Goldsmith was looking into it - just looking and looking and not doing.

Nobody Reading this is Gerry Brownlee!!!

Hooray !!!

Two hours ago Israel launched an air strike that killed 50 Palestinian people sheltering and Israel got back 2 hostages - but Luxon would not condemn these proportions and actions saying only the much softer line that " we do not support these actions".

Do you condemn these actions?

We do not support them - Luxon.

Everyone remembers how Nanaia Mahuta was roasted for two weeks over not condemning Hamas enough but saying ""We are very concerned that the situation will escalate in the coming days and New Zealand again calls for restraint" - but now - when it's Luxon failing to condemn Israel - well the situation is so very different isn't it.

Nobody bats an eyelid.

Luxon is repeating US positions verbatim on the Israeli's operation entering Rafa - saying we are "extremely concerned".

Luxon also dodged making any comments about Trump's recent outlandish comments encouraging Russia to attack Nato allies who do not pay their bills - saying it's all up to the US cos there's 195 nations with independent foreign policies out there.

Jack Tame tore strips off Louis Upston on Q&A - when Upston was exposed for not being evidence based - and making things worse for beneficiaries.

The Atlas Network continues to operate in NZ and G News is starting to get the message out there - about the web and the tactics ...yes we will keep that up.

One poll alone is likely BS when it's an Atlas Network Poll - gotta look at the trend of polls - before thinking there's a shift.

Romeo and Juliet was very slick and well performed with many innovations that were modern at Sky City last night. I applauded for ages thinking of William - who's work was still making us entertained and causing us reflection 400 years after his death.

"Well done William", I thought as the actors on stage bowed low and I clapped them too.

Vicki said she had a really great day with me yesterday and I said me too with her ...cos it cost a bit to go out for breakfast, dinner and see a show - but it was really worth it, really enjoyed the time together.

Have a lovely evening.
