"Coalition Government has more clean-up to do after uncharacteristically sloppy week", wrote Audrey Young understating the utterly appalling mess the three headed Taniwha had continued to make of matters since day one.
As per usual Young skipped past the way Luxon had no clue about the ruling by the international court of justice and his obligations to prevent genocide and Young drifted past Luxon's appalling lack of action on the cost of living and crime, not to mention exposure that he'd been using Tobacco Industry rhetoric about black markets and increased crime if cigarette sales were limited to fewer outlets.
"It's as if Audrey is a super Luxon fan", said an organic punga.
"Her and Claire Trevett", agreed a Flax Bush, "Biggest Tory brown nosers ever" .
"Uncharacteristic sloppy week", warbled a majestical Tui before yelling "YEAH RIGHT" and flying off to peck at Shayne Currie.
"Yes it's been an absolute shocking continuation of the shemozzle we've seen from day one", said G from G News, "Luxon continues to be evasive and is full of word salads disguising his lack of transparency but he's also blaming Winston for his part in the last six years by saying it was all an ungodly mess with no good outcomes - especially concerning the falling smoking rates and increased numbers of new police over that period".
G was right that Luxon was shitting hard on Winston and media had failed to drive home on that wedge, especially Audrey who clung to hopes that Sir Bill English had nailed it by saying she'll be right and New Zealanders will sort things out.
Truth was Sir Bill just wanted assimilation in the same way Michael Laws thought the Treaty was Frankenstein and that it was rightfully ignored by the 1860s when it was of no more use to the British and the settler programme got under full colonial swing.
As per usual folks on The Platform are still complaining about anyone mentioning "colonisation" and branding them with a "victim mentality" - in the same words used by Casey Costello about most Maori today.
Costello has been in the hot seat and this afternoon Luxon was boasting about an incredibly positive and constructive meeting with the Iwi Chairs - where he said they agreed they would not agree on 100% of things but he could do business with them - when media asked him who wrote the note?
Luxon said you had better ask Costello that.
Media asked whether he as PM had spoken with her about that and Luxon ducked saying he had different conversations with her, informally and Luxon did not want to get into it ...while Louise Upston stood behind him with a face that looked like a tragic sunken pavlova, frowning like everything white in the deep south, on the day they abolished slavery.
Yes there was no getting a straight answer out of Luxon's ever circling spin cycle - but he was very very confident and very encouraged and brushed everything off as per usual - as his diabolical shite show rolls on.
The smoking scandal will not go away - as easily as Mr Plod flip flopped - but it now finally turns out that Mr Plod understands the 500 new police is above or extra - ontop of attrition.
The police lose about 450 people per year, so now they need to find 750 new recruits for two years and there's already talk that the fitness tests need to be softened up.
Audrey gave Gerry a brick bat for leaving his microphone on - but skipped past all of his memory lapses when it came to the names of Maori MPs, poor decisions, flip flopping and allowing points of order that were not based on standing orders.
Nobody reading this is Gerry Brownlee!!!
Hooray!!!
Tama the token tory mouthpiece overstepped his mana by mocking the mana of Ngāti Rēhia this afternoon and was told to stop, like one tells a dog to stop mauling the furniture. What a disgrace.
Soon Tama was performing for media again and Nicola Willis' smarmy smug smile pretended she understoof what Tama was talking about in Te Reo Māori when she had no clue.
Chlöe threw her hat in the ring after speaking to all her colleagues and she expressed her view that legacy parties will be on the decline and the Greens on the rise..and that she had both the consensus capabilities of James Shaw and the ability to mobilise and expand the party.
Asked about leadership and PM potential she said this was not about her. Chlöe is all about research and evidence based policy.
Luxon dismissed Chlöe as a threat saying she had been part of the Greens who achieved nothing for six years, and how the Greens do not know who they are, cos they no longer represent the environment ( like National does lol ). A glib, shallow comment from a man so far up his own corporate butt that he allegedly drove through a Rāhui in his $250 Million boat to kill the last milky fleshed snapper off Onetangi recently.
Helen Clark has made a few comments this week about UNRWA funding. UNRWA provide aid to Palestine and surrounding areas and Helen Clark noted that there are 13,000 people involved in UNRWA, that 12 of them were stood down immediately ( 2 could not be found ) based on serious allegations and that tiny percentage should not mean funding is stopped by countries around the world. The allegations ( and they are allegations albeit serious ones ) were made a few hours after the International Court of Justice ruled against Israel and for South Africa that there was a plausible risk of genocide.
This has triggered Oliver Sean Plunket out of his right wing mind and he's been quick to invite Israel's perspective onto The Platform more than once this week.
The big reaction and media attention is some kind of distraction according to Helen.
Most people are looking forward to the long weekend and Waitangi Day will be a real eye opener this year as the National led spin machine tries to play the high ground with one hand while being dark arsed on the other.
The notion of a sea of flying dildos descending from the clouds and raining down on some populist Atlas Network targets has people smiling.
Only in New Zealand lol.
Took Monty to see the vet this morning and he was very good, as he had his claws clipped and had another vaccine and weighed in almost twice his weight three weeks ago. Crikey.
Hope you are having a pleasant Friday as we roll into another Waitangi weekend.
