There's nothing much more ironic this Sunday morning than the imported racist leather saddle known as Duplicity from NewsCrap ZB who infamously implied -"Pacific Islanders are leeches" - now lecturing the New Zealand public on Godwins law and making excuses and false equivalences on behalf of Winston Peters.

Duplicity was fined at the time for her overt racism - to be specific - she said about Nauru and the Pacific Islands :

"Du Plessis Allan referred to the island as a "hell hole", and said it was not worth attending the Forum anyway because the Pacific Islands "don't matter. They are nothing but leeches on us. The Pacific Islands wants money from us," she told listeners.

Yes today the racists nurtured by NZME were claiming victory for Winston without recourse to evidence as per usual, and the blurred accusations made against the media by Winston and supporters like Duplicity lacked specifics as is the way with weak apologist shock jocks cheering for discrimination in order to bolster radio ratings and revenue.

Smoothing over what Winston said and saying it did not do him any harm was consistent with the NZ Herald editorial who reckoned Winston was bathing in some kind of limelight.

Bravo for racism and populism - clap clap, excuses, excuses.

And presto - it does Winston no harm - is the new claim from NZME.

There was no data nor polling done to back that up - it was all just a convenient right wing narrative just to make excuses for Winston - no evidence required to prove those claims now made by Duplicity Allan.

Further Luxon was not in the limelight and it sounded like NZME thought Winston's comments were entirely appropriate and Luxon should be getting in on that limelight like Winston had.

Or else we may not know who is in charge - said the NZ Herald.

Last time I looked Te Pati Maori was not holding the role of Deputy Prime Minister nor Foreign Affairs - nor were any of the examples cited by Winston to bolster his claim that media had misreported him ( which included NewsCarp ZB ) and gone easy on others about "genocide" or "nazis".

This was about the role and the comments taken together.

Look at NZME - staring at those facts and reaching for excuses.

The BBC even made headlines about this 12 thousand miles away.

Winston was saying he was being picked on and media had not blinked an eye when others said what he was saying.

This wasn't a case of somebody in the pub making drunken remarks - this wasn't someone sitting on their couch with a red cap on swearing at their TV - this was about a senior Minister of the Government straying into offensive territory which caused the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand to issue warnings about the use of such terminology by politicians.

This was about holding Government to account.

It was about the negligence and weakness of Luxon making excuses that he had not heard those comments and would be having a chat that was unnecessarily private as - Winston carried on like Luxon was an utter idiot and puppet clown.

Luxon's leadership was missing in action.

NZME had to cover up for it.

So what was the heart of the matter?

Winston had linked co-governance to his remarks about a race based theory and then said he had seen this sort of philosophy before...and he talked about "the horrors of history elsewhere in the world" immediately after his comments about Nazi Germany.

Co-governance of what?

Decisions about water resources - which are specifically cited in the Treaty and where Maori have a special interest?

There is a race based Legal Compact called Te Tiriti that those in this Settler State want to ignore. It's not a theory, it's a form of contract between two "nations" or "peoples".

The racists had been stirred up to think this was about He Puapua or an Upper House by populists and the Atlas Network TPU - and they sat arms folded now - in their racist privileged fury - cos we are all equal and how dare you get in my way - with white settler descendent people on top and Maori having no say, anything less would not be democratic.

Here was Winston playing sweet sounds to those ears - like he did about "Rights and Wongs" - ho ho - the xenophobic vote.

The uptight racist sour right - want to rewrite the articles of the Treaty too while NZ First hides who it has been speaking with in Oil and Gas and Mining and what projects they allow to skirt past environmental protections.

It's about a 6% mandate if you ask Shane Jones.

He wants to kill the penguins, fish, whales, birds, tear down the trees - whatever.

Winston crying about media is also pure bunk on this topic - not just because of roles - but because of changes in position and the actual reporting of it.

What Winston failed to say was that media did report the remarks made by Te Pati Maori at the time back in August 2023 and earlier - and they reported TPM had apologised and welcomed everyone and would treat everyone as they do on the Marae...unlike Winston who now doubled down and changed his story to include words that were not in his speech - like how he was talking about TPM.

Why was Winston so vague and not specific in his speech if he was talking about TPM?

Why did he not even mention them?

This was a speech he had time to calculate and edit.

Because he wasn't talking about them really - that's my claim.

He was getting at Go-Governance in general and even admitted so in media comments before things blew up and his emphasis changed.

The back door was there to escape down - running like a user and abuser - the Drunkle - running to change the story for those thick as a brick, and dashing into the arms of Duplicity - a real apologist - the leech person - imported apartheid - who said "it does not hurt him" - it all makes sense.

Winston dog whistled to settler descendent racists without mentioning TPM in his speech - and at the same time blithered about six terrible years of government - where he was part of the Government for three of them ...and how it had all magically gone astray when he was booted into oblivion by voters in 2020.

I'm with Chippy on this - that political parties should all rule out NZ First - but here was Luxon - grabbing power with both hands only to be dragged through the subtle racist mud - making weak excuses instead of leading.

The glaring hole in Luxon's leadership made for deathly stares in conservative New Zealand...they knew he was a dud.

It had to be smoothed over again - he had seven houses and Mandy was holding an elite event as people were fired for neoliberal ideology and the rich gave zero farks.

They are all a disgrace as far as I am concerned - whether Duplicity was right to point out what Godwin's law really says or wrong to subtly apologise for Winston - he holds the role of Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs and this goes straight to Luxon's failure to lead.

No excuses. Get real.

They know it at NZME but Barbara Chapman is chair of the board and Deputy Chair of the NZ Initiative - and she and Christopher Luxon both went to Switzerland in May 2017 on a jolly - for a week with Fran O'Sullivan tagging along ...

Fran was worried it was all going too far - pinching the wheel chairs, stealing the kids lunches, sacking good people to pay for tax cuts that never added up in the first place.

These people are tight - and it simply would not do for the NZ Herald or NewsCarp ZB to call out Luxon's weak leadership like they would if Jacinda was PM ( Curran, David Clark, etc ).

That would take integrity from crooked self centred people dedicated to Greed.

This was about crony mates in media and corruption of so called "editorial independence" as the propaganda assets of the Atlas Network - made excuses for the inexcusable.

"Pacific Islands "don't matter. They are nothing but leeches on us." - said Duplicity as she smoothed it all over and Luxon was still their hero.

But as somebody said this week - listen - the crowing has stopped !!!

Now they are on the back foot and the tide is turning.

Hell yes, come on New Zealand, drive them out of office, and do it hard.
