Thursday Morning Coffee

The Waitangi Tribunal is currently holding an inquiry into the Government’s plan to scrap Section 7AA of the Oranga Tamariki Act and in a rare move has summonsed Children's Minister Karen Chhour to give evidence.

Naturally Pumpkin Head Shane Jones shot his pompous big mouth off about how these judges had no business doing so - and how he was looking forward to a review that may scrap the Tribunal as part of the Atlas Network backed Coalition Agreement.

Shots fired, the Māori Law Society returned fire complaining to Christopher Luxon about the Pumpkin Head's lack of judgement before commenting on matters before the courts or judicial decisions.

The Māori Law Society has asked the Prime Minister to conduct a review into whether there has been a Cabinet Manual breach.

Loads of hot air spewed from the torn sack as Pumpkin Head raised one of his five porn fingers in the air - and he tried to gain attention and keep onside the 6% constituency who voted for NZ First, but alas many people just thought he was a traitor and scoundrel of the lowest order.

Down in Tauranga a white boomer reckoned - just because Māori were here first - did not mean those who came here second did not have the right to take what Māori had, cos we are all one - something like that, and I listened to Vicki tell me there's no changing his mind at his age as I pulled up at the wharf.

Vicki's dad did not have a stroke - but instead has another rare condition which I won't explain cos who am I - to divulge private health details - but the good news is he is going to be okay on medication - and the bad news is - it's not certain he will fully recover from this.

I drove away from the wharf as Vicki headed to Auckland hospital - but it's worth me telling you - by blowing her trumpet for her - that in between caring for her dad at his bedside yesterday - Vicki went over to her dad's place and tidied it up, did the washing - what a woman - unsung hero really... yanno how it is ... actions speak louder.

Meanwhile something was going on with Jenna Lynch cos for some reason NZ media have this thing about Luxon and his energy levels - and Jenna described how Luxon had brought his "Big Business Energy" to talks in Thailand - ha ha, come on he used to run an airline after he sold soap, and sure he did zero acquisitions and mergers, but well media won't go there.

Why is that really?

Is it cos when there is no substance and no better outcomes - Luxon's media fall into optics - like look at him springing up those steps and bouncing in his chair with "Big Business Energy"?

Anyway maybe there are NewsHub news media jobs on the line with Stuff - and everyone applying is falling back into line or something - but not BeenA dick over at TVNZ.

Mr Collins did a sterling job last night on TVNZ 1 News - smashing Luxon in the face over hosting of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in NZ, in particular allowing Myanmar officials into the country for talks.

As per usual there were excuses and loopholes and a Junta official was allowed in despite this business Luxon is inviting being described as "blood money" - and BeenAdick concluded Luxon was - giving the Junta international legitimacy.

TVNZ 1 news led with the brutal, chaotic and dangerous job cuts and their impacts on children and young people as this Government throws people's lives into turmoil.

The Neoliberals must be confronted.

The PSA is fighting this every step of the way and here on G News there are rumblings all over the place - as the nation reacts - and huge numbers of people are thirsty for protest.

OMG, it's like fire in our veins...as we wait for some call ...but now seems a good time to mention David Stewart from Whakatane where his protest demonstrations to postpone the tax cuts have been held weekly and are gaining momentum and traction.

David has a facebook page with all the details. Go David.

The fast track consenting submissions come to a close tomorrow and I hope you've been able to make submissions - despite the way the flapping flounder - former tobacco lobbyist and teen Snapchat expert Chris Bishop is concealing the details of the 200 projects "invited" to participate.

Fortunately Bishop and Simeon Brown were ambushed by a protest group at an announcement yesterday and the sign "fossil fools" seemed on point to most.

Stepping away from all of this carnage - there's a definite "eat your crow early" strategy here, as Luxon will be banking on none of us recalling what happened in 2024 by the 2026 election.

By that time inflation will be back to about 2% and everyone will vaguely recall it had something to do with Labour - because Luxon and Willis told us so thousands of times and that made the print without challenge.

I can just imagine Luxon and Willis being praised in 2026 - as sound economic wizards who got us through the cost of living crisis - like they did with Sir Bill after the GFC - when nothing is further from the truth right now.

Finally I thought I would explain something.

It's my intention to include a range of issues that impact women on about a weekly basis on G News - after the claim that I don't care about some issues was made. Last night I started with a topic that is not discussed much that impacts women ( and men indirectly ) but came under fire for doing so - rather than sticking to other selected topics. Anyway - the good news is - there's more to come - and that was not it - the "s" on the end of the word "issues" suggests a plural not a singular ...and no I did not miss the boat - but instead thought about a range of issues more widely.

Nuff said.

It's been a bumpy time and things are happening fast here as the Neoliberal attack flows full steam from the tap and buckets overflow.

Things will settle down again soon...but think we are ready and rearing to hit the streets...what do you think?
